## What this funds

The FY 2027 President's Budget request of $100 million will fund the operation of the United States Investment Accelerator (IA) Office, as established by Executive Order 14255, and will fulfill its mandate to implement relevant committed investments under the U.S.-Japan and U.S.-Korea Investment Initiatives. The Trump Administration has negotiated unprecedented trade deals and secured commitments from the Governments of Japan and the Republic of Korea to invest $750 billion domestically in order to help secure American prosperity for generations. The $100 million request for the IA is needed, as directed by the President, to execute and oversee these investments, including by assisting investment projects, reduce regulatory burdens where consistent with applicable law and increase access to national resources where appropriate. The deals are not self-executing and will not happen without adequate IA funding. The IA lays the foundation for a new era of U.S. global trade relations leveling the playing field for American producers and accounting for American national security needs. The IA is necessary and appropriate to reduce the U.S. trade deficit, boost the economy of the United States, and address the consequences of the trade deficit, including strengthening the manufacturing and defense industrial base of the United States. This program will expand U.S. exports and investment-driven production, reduce the trade deficit and restore greater balance to the overall U.S. trade position.
