## What this funds

The Checkpoint Property Screening System (CPSS) program supports checkpoint screening capabilities by addressing identified capability gaps in current property screening technologies' ability to detect new and evolving threats reliably and efficiently, replacing current Advanced Technology X-rays with CT technology which provides 3D images and density information to better detect threats in carry-on baggage. The FY 2027 Budget includes $225.9M to procure and deploy 203 CT systems and for testing, deploying new capability upgrades, and support services, ensuring new capability upgrades, and support services. The FY 2027 procurements will enable TSA to increase security effectiveness with ~1,247 CT systems and enables the program to reach Full Operational Capability (FOC) in FY 2034. 1 Estimated weighted average unit cost assumes that remaining CPSS fleet procurements will be 10 percent Base systems, 45 percent Mid-size systems, and 45 percent Full-size.
