What this funds
This investment continues activities to grow the USCG's MH-60 fleet as the Service transitions away from MH-65Es approaching their expected end of service life. This investment supports required service life extension activities and provides for an estimated four fleet-growth helicopter. The FY 2027 Budget funds the ongoing replacement of life-limited airframe. The MH-60T is the Service's multi-mission, Medium Range Recovery helicopter. This airframe conducts law enforcement, counter-drug, and border security missions. It also supports a 24/7 search and rescue and disaster recovery posture while also supporting other USCG missions such as ports, waterways, and coastal security; marine environmental protection; and living marine resources. The Working Families Tax Cut Act provided $2.28B for procurement and acquisition of rotary-wing aircraft, equipment related to such aircraft and training simulators and program management for such aircraft.
