In FY 2027, CBP will execute 15 deployments or reconfigurations, supporting operational priorities and national security implementing system improvements to extend service life, increase detection effectiveness, and enable remote operations. These actions ensure effective detection and operational alignment across the Nation's POEs. • International Rail (IRAIL): The FY 2027 Budget includes $1.3M to support site construction, system installation, and integration verification activities at Brownsville, Texas and Portal, North Dakota sites. The IRAIL program will acquire and deploy two fixed radiation detection equipment configured for the freight rail environment and integrate them with CBP's High Energy Rail Radiography system for side-by-side operation. These efforts will enable CBP to detect and identify nuclear or other radioactive materials entering the United States via freight rail at active POEs, while also recapitalizing aging rail radiography systems and conducting system performance evaluations to strengthen border
