The FY2027 President's Budget requests $16.9M for UH-60 Medium Lift Helicopter, within Homeland Security's Procurement, Construction, and Improvements account. That is down 8.6% on the FY2026 figure of $18.5M, which is a continuing-resolution annualized figure, not an enacted appropriation.
FY2025–FY2027
| Fiscal year | Basis | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| FY2025 | enacted | $18.5M |
| FY2026 | CR annualized | $18.5M |
| FY2027 | request | $16.9M |
The prior-year column is a CR annualized figure — the rate a continuing resolution funds at, not an enacted appropriation. The two are different numbers and are not interchangeable. Bases are separate columns and are never summed into one figure.

The UH-60 Medium Lift Helicopter (MLH) is a turbo-shaft twin engine helicopter that is designed to carry a crew of four, and a fully equipped team of 11 agents and for the robust capabilities required for border interdiction and life-saving missions in hostile environments, including high-altitude desert, open water, and extreme cold. Replacing the aging, non-standardized legacy airframes with modern configurations will reduce maintenance The FY 2027 Budget includes $16.9M to fund one MLH in a modern configuration. CBP is modernizing its MLH fleet in support of the Administration's January 2025 Executive Order, Executive Order 14165 - Securing Our Borders. DHS has an approved requirement for 35 MLH aircraft and of these, 10 have been delivered. Both the FY 2025 Full-Year CR and the Working Families Tax Cut Act (Pub. Law 119-21) funded two replacements each and the FY 2026 Annualized CR funded one. By continuing to modernize the fleet, CBP strengthens enforcement outcomes, reduces maintenance costs, enhances operational safety and readiness, and moves closer to achieving full fleet modernization. Linked contracts are a floor, not a census. Coverage is bounded by how distinctively a program is named and, for performer links, to RDT&E and Procurement — O&M and military construction publish no performers. Budget figures are FY2027 request dollars; contract figures are obligations. The two measure different things and must never be summed together.
