Housing & Urban Dev discretionary budget authority
From the OMB Public Budget Database — clean, summable, and the figure to cite for an agency total. It is the whole of Housing & Urban Dev's discretionary request, not a total of the parsed lines above, and this page never adds the two together.
What this funds
Office of Public and Indian Housing The 2027 President's Budget eliminates funding for the Choice Neighborhoods program, reducing spending by $25 million compared to the 2026 Enacted level. Choice Neighborhoods is a place-based grant program which helps communities develop and implement neighborhood plans to transform underserved neighborhoods. Grants are either planning grants, which develop a plan for transformation, or implementation grants, which are larger grants The 2027 Budget recognizes a greater role for State and local governments, the private sector, and nonprofits to address community and economic development needs in localities across the Nation. Thus, HUD will continue to seek ways to partner with these governmental and private entities to adopt policies and reduce regulatory barriers that would allow communities to transform neighborhoods and unleash the potential of their residents.

Contracts funded by this line
2 linked contracts. These are obligations — lifetime awarded money — and they are not comparable to the request above and are never added to it. No total is shown: an award linked to several lines is counted in full on each, so the sum would not be a fact.

Linked contracts are a floor, not a census. Coverage is bounded by how distinctively a program is named and, for performer links, to RDT&E and Procurement — O&M and military construction publish no performers. Budget figures are FY2027 request dollars; contract figures are obligations. The two measure different things and must never be summed together.
