FY2027 $10.30B, FY2026 $13.70B. This is the agency total, not a sum of the parsed lines.

## What this funds

The Administration does not request funding for the Adult Education State Grants program for fiscal year 2027. Elimination of this program is consistent with Executive Order 14278's commitment to eliminating ineffective workforce development programs and Executive Order 14242, "Improving Education Outcomes by Empowering Parents, States, and Communities." States and localities, not the Federal government, are best suited to determine whether to support the activities authorized under this program or similar activities within their own budgets and without unnecessary administrative burden imposed by the Federal government. The President's Budget redirects resources to programs that more directly prepare students for meaningful careers, such as Career and Technical Education State Grants.
