The HitchAI connector · for Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and any MCP client

Your AI assistant, with HitchAI's data behind it

HitchAI is a federal-market intelligence product for companies: budget, contracts, opportunities and the intelligence around them, linked so one question can run across all of it. The connector puts that in front of the AI assistant you already use. It is read-only: your assistant can look anything up and change nothing. It works as you, inside your company's HitchAI plan, and every call counts against your plan's daily limit.

You need a HitchAI account at a licensed company with connector access. There is no free tier; to get access, contact us.

Connect

Claude (claude.ai, desktop, mobile)

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and find HitchAI in the directory — or choose Add custom connector and enter https://mcp.hitchintel.com/mcp.
  2. Click Connect. A HitchAI page opens: sign in with your work email, read what the assistant will be able to do, and Approve.
  3. Back in Claude, ask a question. Claude picks the right HitchAI tools itself.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Plugins (Settings → Apps & connectors in older builds) and find HitchAI — or add a custom MCP server with the URL above.
  2. Sign in on the HitchAI page that opens and Approve.
  3. Mention HitchAI in your prompt, or let ChatGPT choose it when a question is about the federal market.

Microsoft 365 Copilot (through Copilot Studio)

Microsoft 365 Copilot has no connector directory; your company adds HitchAI to a Copilot Studio agent and publishes that agent to your tenant. The person who does this is whoever makes agents for your company (often an admin). Steps:

  1. Ask us for a Copilot Studio client: [email protected]. You get a client ID and secret, the authorization URL and the token URL.
  2. In Copilot Studio, open (or create) the agent → Tools → Add a tool → Model Context Protocol. Server URL: https://mcp.hitchintel.com/mcp.
  3. Authentication: OAuth 2.0. Paste the client ID, secret, authorization URL and token URL from step 1. Scopes: openid email. If the form asks for a refresh URL, enter the token URL.
  4. Copilot Studio shows a redirect (callback) URL. Send it to us; we register it on your client. Until then the first sign-in fails with a redirect error.
  5. Save, test the agent in Copilot Studio (sign in on the HitchAI page when prompted, then Approve), and Publish it to Microsoft 365 Copilot. Each person who uses the agent signs in to HitchAI once, as themselves.

An admin may need to approve the agent for your tenant in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Only people with a HitchAI seat at your company can sign in; everyone else sees a refusal, not data.

GitHub Copilot in VS Code

  1. Command Palette → MCP: Add Server → HTTP → https://mcp.hitchintel.com/mcp, name it hitch.
  2. On the first use VS Code opens your browser to sign in on hitchintel.com; Approve. Tokens refresh on their own.

If sign-in is refused because self-registration is off for your client, use an API key instead (below).

Claude Code and other MCP clients

claude mcp add --transport http hitch https://mcp.hitchintel.com/mcp

The first call opens the sign-in page in your browser. Any client that speaks Streamable HTTP MCP with OAuth works the same way. Clients that hold an API key instead can still pass it as Authorization: Bearer hk_live_…; a key is issued by HitchAI on request.

What is on the server

Each domain is a family of tools with the same prefix. Which domains your assistant can reach depends on your company's plan; hitch_domains lists them with each one's freshness.

Things to ask

Limits and good manners

Disconnect, support

Disconnect the assistant in its own settings at any time (a connection already made keeps working for up to an hour); we revoke access on our side on request. Problems or questions: [email protected]. Service health: https://mcp.hitchintel.com/healthz.
