## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** All efforts will continue from FY 2026 in addition to: - Begin the development of a Compact Boost Rocket Motor Chemical Sensor (CBRMCS) for advanced health monitoring to collect data and infer stabilizer content from the propellant in a solid rocket motor assembly - Begin enhancements for Missile Segment Mating in the Missile Assembly Building (MAB) to accelerate and reduce manning by developing a control system that consolidates position control for a single user with more intuitive controls - Begin the integration of prototype sensor payloads on the Autonomous Launch Area Support Ship (ATLASS) to enable a hybrid human-machine launch area CONOP, with the goal of reducing reliance on legacy LASS ships and increasing testing tempo - Begin the development of an Expeditionary Launch Area Buoy (ELAB), a Flight Test Instrumentation Buoy with more expansive capabilities, to replace the existing tactical comms buoy with the goal of increasing test tempo while maintaining range safety - Begin the development of a Joint A-DAS & High Speed Boost and Midcourse Telemetry Program for FCET-10, a fused data acquisition system that incorporates flight test data, environmental sensor data, and high-speed video to enable the collection of more extensive and higher resolution test data - Begin the validation of advanced non-destructive evaluation (NDE) tools for the D5 Motor Static Firing to enable motor life extension and shift from time-based to condition-based maintenance - Begin the characterization of Trident Reentry Body aerodynamics and plasma by leveraging previously funded Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) efforts, inserting three SBIR-developed sensors into the Enhanced Inert Head (EIH) test body to collect data and reduce uncertainty around fuze and telemetry blackout windows - Additional details held at a higher classification level

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** The requested $14.889 million increase from FY 2026 to FY 2027 is required to enhance naval asset reliability and operational readiness. This funding accelerates the fielding of new capabilities and extends the life of current assets by increasing flight test tempo and improving system monitoring. Key initiatives include developing advanced health monitoring sensors and non-destructive evaluation tools for motor life extension, while autonomous vessels, new buoy systems, and streamlined missile assembly processes will increase test tempo. Additionally, a fused data acquisition system and new reentry body sensors will gather more extensive data, reducing future test requirements.
