## Summary

This activity requests $234.6M in FY2027, 77% of project 642407, up 20% on FY2026. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2026–FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** FY 2027 is a continuation of FY 2026 efforts to include, but are not limited to, Global Reusable Interface Domain (GRID) development, Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) virtual entities expansion, Weapon Server Common Environment (WSCE) server integration, GRID core services (weather, Infrared, Electronic Warfare, Cyber, Space, data links, communication, etc.), Virtual Airborne Threat Solution (VATS - manned red air) development and Multi Mission Test Platform (MMTPs) refinement. Continue to develop, test, document, and deliver aircraft threat models using threat modeling and analysis. Implement and integrate the collaborative development environment at higher multi-level security within JSE (Impact Levels (IL) 5, 6, and 6+). FY27 environment upgrade support provided by the Navy organic software developers ramps down assuming some workload transfer to Air Force Sustainment Center Software Engineering Directorate.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** FY 2027 funding increased by 39.240 million due to a ramp up in organic Software Engineering Directorate personnel with an increased knowledge base after cross training. Expanding representation of friendly and threat platforms, weapons, and capabilities required to fully represent realistic combat scenarios and assess potential outcomes.

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** FY 2026 is a continuation of FY 2025 efforts to include, but are not limited to, Global Reusable Interface Domain (GRID) development, Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) virtual entities expansion, Weapon Server Common Environment (WSCE) server integration, GRID core services (weather, Infrared, Electronic Warfare, Cyber, Space, data links, communication, etc.), Virtual Airborne Threat Solution (VATS- manned red air) development and Multi Mission Test Platform (MMTPs) refinement. Continue to develop, test, document, and deliver aircraft threat models using threat modeling and analysis. Implement and integrate the collaborative development environment at higher multi-level security within JSE (Impact Levels (IL) 5, 6, and 6+).

## Funding

| Fiscal Year | Estimate Type | Amount ($M) |

| FY2025 | Actual | 126.4 |
| FY2026 | Enacted | 195.4 |
| FY2027 | Request | 234.6 |

> Prior, current and budget year only — an R-2A activity carries no five-year plan. It sums exactly into its project in the request year and not necessarily in any other.
