## Mission & acquisition strategy

In the cyber domain, readiness is perishable. The skills, tools, and teamwork required to counter advanced adversaries demand continuous, high‑fidelity training. The Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE) is the Department of War’s enterprise solution to this challenge, providing a standardized, on‑demand training platform essential for building and certifying the readiness of the Cyber Mission Force (CMF) at the individual, team, and force levels. PCTE delivers a common training capability that maximizes shared content across the Military Services.

The Persistent Cyber Training Environment program employs an incremental acquisition strategy that leverages multiple contracting vehicles and streamlined acquisition methods to deliver capability rapidly and efficiently. By utilizing existing cyber contracts, and Federal Acquisition Regulation–based contracts, the program maintains the flexibility needed to scale, optimize, and modernize the platform in alignment with evolving Cyber Mission Force requirements.
