### Project 676002 — Cyber Systems Modernization

Cyberspace Operations Support (CSOS) consists of a portfolio of capabilities that provide the ability to visualize and process data from weapon/mission systems, sensored by the Integrated Defensive Cyberspace System (IDCS). CSOS supports situational awareness (SA) over Mission Relevant Terrain-Cyber (MRT-C) across the Global Air Force missions. CSOS positions the Air Force to comply with the FY22 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Section 1505, which requests a complete mapping of MRT-C for Defense Critical Assets (DCAs) and Task Critical Assets (TCAs) to enable mission thread analysis and SA. CSOS will focus on data analytics, visualization, dashboards, threat, and network awareness enabling missions across the Department of the Air Force (DAF). Development will focus on improvement of visualization dashboards to provide cyber-SA and decision tools leveraging data gained from the IDCS sensor suite. Development teams will produce Air Force-specific software modules and/or enhancements to existing suites of cyber command and control (C2) software or new software development efforts, to include Mission Defense Team (MDT) C2 software, provide weapon systems cyber awareness, and provide SA for the Air Force Information Network (AFIN) Security Operations Center (SOC). This program element may include necessary civilian pay expenses required to manage, execute, and deliver weapon system capability. The use of such programs funds would be in addition to the civilian pay expenses budgeted in program element 0605827F, 0605828F, 0605829F, 0605831F, 0605832F, 0605833F, 0605898F, 0606398F. This program is in Budget Activity 7, Operational System Development because this budget activity includes development efforts to upgrade systems that have been fielded or have received approval for full rate production and anticipate production funding in the current or subsequent fiscal year.

| Activity (R-2A) | FY2025 | FY2026 | FY2027 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cyber Systems Modernization | 9.4 | 10.0 | 0.0 |

## Mission & acquisition strategy

Cyberspace Operations Support (CSOS) will be executed as part of the Integrated Defensive Cyberspace System (IDCS) acquisition strategy which employs the Software Acquisition Pathway defined in DoDI 5000.87. CSOS will apply agile acquisition tenents to the programmatic, design/engineering, test, and delivery aspects to provide Situational Awareness (SA)/Command and Control (C2) capabilities to the warfighter in a rapid manner and deliver focused visualization/dashboard tools and applications to meet specified mission requirements. To meet mission needs, CSOS may leverage various existing and new contract vehicles to facilitate the rapid development, integration, and fielding of capabilities designed to counter emerging and persistent cyber threats.
