### Project 640019 — NUDET Detection System (SPACE)

Nuclear Detonation Detection System (NUDET Detection System (SPACE)) investment is for the development, integration, testing and fielding of disparate technologies to provide capabilities for Nuclear and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) detection and enable real-time sensing, processing, and alerting capability. This effort will establish and incorporate a digital infrastructure to provide cloud-based data and platform services that will be able to ingest Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (ML) and automation tools to support nuclear detection reporting in support of defense of the homeland. This program element included all necessary expenses required to manage, execute, and deliver weapon system capability. The use of such program funds would be in addition to the civilian pay expenses budgeted in program elements 0605829F, 0605831F, 0605833F, and 0605898F. This effort is in Budget Activity 4, Advanced Component Development and Prototypes (ACD&P), because efforts are necessary to evaluate integrated technologies, representative modes or prototype systems in a high fidelity and realistic operating environment.
