## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** - Investigate approaches for enabling cross-platform entanglement across disparate architectures for distributed quantum sensing and computing applications. - Design training for AI experts to profess a given science domain and advance its research and knowledge frontiers. - Enable scientific AI to create useful, communicable, generalizable abstractions directly from experimental data. - Discover, through optimization, pairwise -or larger neighborhood- agent interaction rules that lead to desired system behaviors.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** The FY 2027 increase reflects studies and concepts initiations including, but not limited to, basic research in AI tools, abstractions that will enable scientific AI and applications that will support distributed quantum sensing and computing.

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** - Begin exploration of new mathematics to automatically disentangle multimodal data, perceive and learn their relationships, and discard superfluous information. - Develop and evaluate scientific artificial intelligence (AI) tools ability to discover principles for DoW-relevant applications.
