## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** - Demonstrate delivery of countermeasure cargo in additional cell types. - Demonstrate systemic delivery of countermeasure cargo. - Develop and demonstrate scale-up manufacturing of the highest-performing delivery vehicles. - Demonstrate delivery of two or more MCM modalities.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** The FY 2027 decrease reflects a reduction in research and development activities to conduct verification and validation studies of candidate countermeasure delivery vehicles.

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** - Demonstrate that the delivery chassis and formulation strategies are capable of delivering countermeasures to multiple cell types experimentally and in whole organisms. - Deliver countermeasure cargo in vivo using a simple administration method. - Assess the safety of the delivery chassis (e.g., minimal adverse effects) in vivo. - Measure the duration of protection following countermeasure administration using the delivery chassis.
