FY2027 planned work

- Continue to rapidly respond to electrical and structural failure investigations and to transition material and process lessons learned to promote mishap prevention, design/production risk reduction and accelerated system solutions. - Continue the research and development of improved material and process analysis techniques, nondestructive inspection (NDI) and material/mechanical test methods to prevent material system failure/degradation in demonstration, testing, production and in service - Continue the development and prototyping of advanced material and processing solutions, including technology implementation support, that accelerates warfighter system development, production, fielding and availability with enhanced flight safety. - Continue the refinement of the development and application of material system failure analysis, aerospace mishap investigation and other lab evaluation capabilities to include application of metals, polymer matrix composites, elastomers, adhesives, electronics, electrical systems, chemical analysis, mechanical test, NDI, counterfeit and other necessary material and process competencies. - Continue the analysis and validation of advanced high power and electrostatic discharge test, characterization and protection methods for operations, emerging systems, avionics subsystems and support processes. - Continue the transition of advanced material processing, characterization, inspection, quality control and repair methods into the Department of War policy for military/national specifications and standards to enable accelerated cost competitive and safe implementation of material and process technology on current and future weapon systems.
