What the FY2027 request buys

C-sUAS Deny and Defeat Tech: Extended Range C-sUAS (XRC) will optimize novel propulsion concepts for extended range C-sUAS efforts through component evaluation and test data analysis; mature modeling and simulation technology for independent performance prediction and evaluation capabilities; continue development of seeker technology to meet long range missile intercept requirements and small form factor constraints; High Volume C-sUAS (HVC) will investigate critical component technology designs to address low cost, deep magazine, small form factor C-sUAS missile systems; Assess technology readiness of low size weight and power (SWAP) industry components (guidance and electronics, controls, and warhead); develop technology maturation plans for relevant industry offerings for high volume C-sUAS efforts requiring further development; develop high volume modeling and simulation environment for industry effector assessment; work with industry to mature small form factor seeker designs accounting for relevant flight conditions AUGUR Shield: Counter-Frequency: Will mature Augur Shield hardware for implementation and assessment of developed artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) algorithms in outdoor conditions; examine options for form factor reduction; modify state of the art (SOA) algorithm implementations to increase compute efficiency; optimize AI/ML techniques for spectrum segmentation, anomaly detection, and signal characterization at the edge on low-size, weight, and power (SWaP) compute hardware through quantization aware training and model pruning; investigate methods for enabling intelligent software agents on-platform autonomous system reasoning components to interpret multimodal sensor feeds for AI-enabled signal segmentation, threat detection, and sensor fusion; train custom foundation models for automated identification of adversarial intent from minimal signature footprint and counter-UAS behavioral analysis; experiment with passive-radio frequency (RF) detection of counter-UAS at operationally relevant environments such as the Combat Training Centers and Southern Border.
Funding increase reflects realignment within this project for technology supporting C-sUAS high volume capability focused on increased magazine depth and strategic reallocation of resources to support evolving priorities and objectives. Funding increase also supports the development of a low-cost wide band RF spectrum sensor and RF environment anomaly detection scheme to detect UAS.
