> **NEW START.** $10.7M requested in FY2027 with no prior-year and no current-year funding.

## Summary

This activity requests $10.7M in FY2027, 36% of project AN9 — a new start with no prior-year and no current-year money. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** Will design and develop emerging signal processing software components to feed signal collection architecture; leverage diverse training data for emerging high priority peer/near-peer adversary military signals; develop machine language models for generating signal detectors for unknown signals of interest; investigate novel RF hardware components for detection, identification, and localization of signals of interest; investigate sensor performance models capable of predicting sensor performance in realistic environments; conduct laboratory experiment to mature signal localization; investigate and develop radar Automated Target Recognition (ATR) concepts, intelligent moving target radar modes, and the processing to enable generalizable ATR that provides high confidence moving target identification through techniques such as focusing and identifying movers from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR).

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** This is not a new start effort. FY 2027 funding increase reflects the consolidation of other ongoing efforts within this project from Army SIGINT Modernization, Army SIGINT Modernization (ASM)-SIGINT Modernization AI/ML RF Detection and Analysis Tech and AI/ML Based ATR (ABA) for Array Geometries to continue the advancement of technologies. Funding increase reflects additional restructure from Program Element (PE) 0602146A (Network C3I Technology) / Project AQ7 (High Tempo Data Driven Decision Tools Technology).

## Funding

| Fiscal Year | Estimate Type | Amount ($M) |
|---|---|---|
| FY2027 | Request | 10.7 |

> Prior, current and budget year only — an R-2A activity carries no five-year plan. It sums exactly into its project in the request year and not necessarily in any other.
