C-sUAS Deny and Defeat Adv Tech: Extended Range C-sUAS (XRC) will mature component technologies and subsystems essential to extended range CsUAS missile prototypes required capabilities; continue design and development of prototypes including airframe, propulsion, seeker, guidance and control components based on feedback from initial prototype designs; continue to incorporate industry partner(s) designs into six-degree of freedom modeling and simulation capability and continue assessment of industry partner(s) subcomponents in government hardware-in-the-loop testing as available; maximize XRC industry partnerships and enable multi-vendor competition in developing interceptor prototypes leading to TRL 6 demonstrations; develop and mature a modular, government owned interceptor launch interface to accommodate multiple launch platforms and integration of fire control for multiple simultaneous engagements. XRC Manpads Compatibility: Will integrate the launch motor into a flight-weight flight motor; demonstrate flight weight motor in a ground test configuration; engage with industry partner to optimize the design; demonstrate the launch motor technology in an inert flight motor ejection test. Common Prox Modules for Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems: Will provide low power integrated circuits for Medium Cannon caliber counter unmanned aerial systems proximity fuzed munitions to enable enhanced lethality against small unmanned aerial systems; optimize fuze electronic assemblies to reduce cost and promote expanded industrial base; demonstrate prototypes against small unmanned aerial system representatives. Night Hyper-Temporal Imaging for Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS): Will optimize state-of-the-art hyper temporal (HT) sensor package to improve performance and size, weight, power, and cost (SWAP-C) for Army counter UAS applications; demonstrate the use of HT sensor modalities to improve threat recognition; mature and validate integrated package into form factors for required payloads. 40mm Precision-Guided CUAS Munition: Will mature and optimize form factor of sub-systems and system level validation of hardware/software in the loop; analyze feasible external systems with networked communication that provide the user with essential information on the target; demonstrate a 40mm precision-guided CUAS munition from the squad organic M320 grenade launcher. On-the-Move Counter Aided Target Detection and Recognition (AiTDR) Imaging: Will deliver EOIR based detection and classification algorithms for military targets hardened against commonly effective attacks; enhance the government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) analysis tool to improve hardening of EOIR threat detection algorithms; fabricate and demonstrate EOIR effects that dynamically adjust to degrade threat-detection capabilities; perform adversarial threat assessments in a lab environment; demonstrate technology at suitable Soldier touchpoint that effectively counters adversarial EOIR threat detection system capabilities, resulting in degraded performance while operating on-the-move.; demonstrate Army EOIR threat detection systems that have been hardened against these same attacks. Soldier C-UAS Individual Protection: Will mature commercial concepts and approaches by incorporating Soldier feedback for optimal integration and demonstrate enhanced efficacy against analogous threat sUAS systems in a relevant environment. C-UAS Munitions for Stryker ICV and XM30: Will provide proximity fuze electronics for high explosive airburst munitions, optimizing munition architecture and interoperability with host weapon system; demonstrate proximity airburst munition technical maturity. Passive Radar Capabilities for Counter Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-sUAS): Will improve passive radar hardware, software, and firmware with expanded signal sets and advanced algorithms; optimize passive radar performance with expanded signal sets and advanced techniques; conduct demonstration of all-weather, day/night detect and track passive radar capability against representative targets in a relevant environment. Layered UAS Protection (LayUP): Will finalize maturation of the dual-layered design; complete integration of the subsystems utilizing the Survivability Framework and Vehicle Protection Systems (VPS) Base Kit (VBK); verify subsystem and system performance through lab / field evaluation; assess and document subsystem performance; transition system to Program Executive Office. Extended Range RF Smoke Artillery: Will provide munition and payload prototypes and demonstrate effects at maximum ranges of munition; validate modeling for dispersion and concentration of payload effects; provides a capability for layered effects and shape/control of electromagnetic spectrum through the use of an artillery munition at extended ranges. Sentinel Distributed HPM Protection System: Will develop and mature a distributed High-Power Microwave (HPM) system tailored for dismounted soldier counter-unmanned aerial systems (c-UAS) operations-a challenge uniquely faced by the Army. This expeditionary HPM initiative will focus on maturing and validating hardware and software components to enable scalable distributed HPM capabilities. These advancements will demonstrate the Army's ability to deploy man-portable HPM systems, significantly enhancing the Army's c-UAS capabilities.
Funding increase reflects collaboration with industry and multi-vendor competition for extended range C-sUAS capability; and acceleration of launcher and fire control capabilities required for lower-cost kinetic interceptor for defeat of aerial threats providing increased magazine depth and range.
