## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** - Continue development, maturation, and initial hardware in the loop assessment of cognitive electromagnetic warfare technologies to provide enhanced survivability within complex electromagnetic environment; prototype advanced data analytics capabilities to assist operators with planning, re-tasking, and assessing non-kinetic effects against a dynamic adversarial kill web. - Continue assessing operational and program office requirements to determine multi-spectral shortfalls and applicable modeling, simulation, and assessment needs. - Continue conducting both field technology demonstrations and continuous integration events, and analysis from the demonstrations to support transition into Air Force platforms and electromagnetic spectrum operations units. - Continue threat characterization, countermeasures development, and field testing of defeat techniques against new advanced threats. - Continue development of mission positioning, navigation, and timing technologies, by opening up interfaces to include new alternative positioning, navigation, and timing capabilities including transcoding of Global Positioning System military receivers. - Complete initial implementations of positioning, navigation, and timing plugins for programs of records, showing that these technologies can provide alternative navigation solutions by providing a mosaic of capabilities that when blended together can match current satellite navigation solutions. - Complete development of technologies to establish and maintain resilient and robust positioning, navigation, and timing capabilities for airborne platforms in contested environments, in particular over vast spans of water. - Commence maturing effort to develop and assess multi-spectral electromagnetic support and attack concepts and technologies against emerging threats leveraging successful results from applied research efforts. - Commence integrated/networked multi-platform reference architecture implementations and open architecture standards to support enhanced modeling, simulation, and assessment.

**FY2026 plans — current year.** - Complete multi-spectral development within Reference Architecture Implementations and open architectures standards to support enhanced modeling, simulation and assessment. - Complete development of advanced networking, processing, advanced computing paradigms, and cybersecurity technologies for next-generation avionics mission system capabilities. - Continue maturing effort to develop and assess multi-spectral electromagnetic support and attack concepts and technologies against emerging threats, leveraging successful completion of Radio Frequency Electronic Warfare Demonstrator effort; Develop a ‘pipeline' to leverage modern industry software practices to rapidly transition electronic warfare algorithms (The EW Pipeline). - Continue assessing operational and program office requirements to determine multi-spectral shortfalls and determine applicable modeling & simulation to evaluate shortfalls and potential technologies to address these shortfalls. - Continue conducting both field technology demonstrations and continuous integration events, and analysis from the demonstrations to support transition into Air Force platforms and electromagnetic spectrum operations units. - Continue threat characterization, countermeasures development, and field testing of laser jam codes and techniques against new advanced threats. - Continue effectiveness assessment of laser and missile warning technologies and techniques for a variety of Air Force platforms. - Continue utilizing agile development processes and digital engineering techniques to further accelerate development, integration, and demonstrations to rapidly respond to new and unexpected complex emitters in realistic electromagnetic operating environments. - Continue development of technologies to establish and maintain resilient and robust positioning, navigation, and timing capabilities for airborne platforms in various environments, including over vast spans of water. - Continue to integrate these technologies into the reference implementations aligned with the resilient embedded global positioning system-inertial and positioning, navigation and timing software defined user equipment programs of record. - Continue developing, demonstrating, and promulgating navigational open architecture standards to permit integration of alternative position, navigation and timing approaches into future Department of Defense systems. - Commence development and maturation of cognitive electromagnetic warfare technologies to provide enhanced survivability within a complex electromagnetic operating environment; prototype advanced data analytics capabilities to assist human operators with planning, re-tasking, and assessing non-kinetic effects against a highly dynamic adversary kill web.
