FY2027 planned work

- Identify technology infrastructure needs and develop approach to enable a robust U.S. quantum material and technology lifecycle base that allows broad access to the quantum community for use from initial concept development to industrial-scale manufacturing while addressing security and IP protection needs of the U.S., DoW, and across the user base - Continue near-term investments targeting gaps in US quantum supply chain leveraging multi-user capabilities such as with AIM Photonics - Continue verification, validation, and transition of quantum sensors in collaboration with DIU (TQS program) targeting PNT applications, RF sensors for C3-ISR missions, and identifying emerging quantum technologies for insertion into TQS in collaboration with DIU. - Continue joint Australia-United Kingdom-United States (AUKUS) to advance joint missions requiring alt-PNT capabilities

- Utilizing technology developed within this effort, initiate planning for future joint Australia-United Kingdom-United States (AUKUS) PNT demonstrations. - Leverage funding to target quantum technology lifecycle gaps to accelerate development cycle of quantum technology to address emerging needs within DoW for greater domain awareness and unimpeded operations in operational environments. - Initiate multi-project wafer (MPW) service runs at AIM Photonics for broad capability enhancement for quantum devices in the DoW. - Conduct verification and validation of quantum sensing technology by government team led by military service department subject matter experts. - Complete Joint Concept Design Review for quantum-enabled PNT, introducing future acquisition strategies for possible programs of records. -Initiate new “tranche” of quantum sensor maturation projects for RF sensors targeting C3ISR missions. -Track progress in the use of quantum computing for game-changing opportunities for DoW to leverage.

-FY 2025 Plans: - Oversee atomic clock demonstrations, showcasing current Australia-United Kingdom-United States (AUKUS) technology. - Conduct initial systems requirement review, originally in FY24, with industry contractors outlining integration plan for quantum sensors into specified applications. - Finalize SwaP redesign of quantum sensors (magnetometers, accelerometers and gravimeters), ensuring the transitioning quantum sensors are compatible with current/future military applications. - Conduct preliminary design reviews with industry contractors validating the redesign and system requirements meet military application specifications. - Initiate planning for FY26 OUSD-led quantum sensing demonstration. - Measure quantum magnetometer sensor environmental capabilities (originally in FY24)
