## Summary

This activity requests $43.9M in FY2027, 20% of project DS7, down 17% on FY2026. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2025–FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** Will continue to leverage current and emerging technologies to identify and improve modeling and simulation gaps across the DoW acquisition and mission engineering community and mature and demonstrate relevant software applications for high-end computers across all classification levels to be used by over 180 DoW stakeholder organizations across government, industry, and academia in support of air, land, and sea programs of record as well as future concept development for the DoW's highest priorities. Will continue to mature and demonstrate software tools and environments on high-end computers in support of critical technology areas and provide training to over 3000 users to improve resource effectiveness and impact. Will leverage high-end computing experts in the acquisition and mission engineering community to significantly impact weapon system research, development, test, and evaluation and digital engineering efforts across the DoW.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** Funding decrease reduces High Performance Computing Modernization Program enterprise level software provided to stakeholders.

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** Continuing to develop and improve modeling and simulation applications employed across the DoW acquisition community and mature and demonstrate relevant software applications for high-end computers to be used by over 180 DoW stakeholder organizations across government, industry, and academia in support of air, land, and sea programs of record as well as future concept development for the DoW's highest priorities. Continuing to mature and demonstrate software tools and environments on high-end computers in support of critical technology areas and provide training to over 3000 users to improve resource effectiveness and impact. Leveraging high-end computing experts in the acquisition community to significantly impact acquisition and digital engineering efforts across the DoW.

**FY2025 accomplishments.** Continue to mature and demonstrate 12 software applications for high-end computers to be used by over 150 DoD stakeholder organizations in air, land, and sea programs of record (PORs) as well as future concept development for DoD's highest priorities. Continue to mature and demonstrate software tools and environments for high-end computers and provide training to over 3000 users to improve resource effectiveness and impact. Continue to mature software applications for the operation of DSRC high-end computers in support of over 2000 users and staff. Demonstrated new HPC tools for acquisition engineering.
