## Summary

This activity requests $20.1M in FY2027, 77% of project 1916, down 10% on FY2026. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2026–FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** - Continue updating ACB trunk software infrastructure for operating system obsolescence. - Continue integration of ACB Step 2 developed capabilities via 12-week Agile DevSecOps software releases. - Continue execution of incremental Step 3 land-based testing in support of ACB-27. - Maintain PRWGs of national-level SMEs for Active Sonar processing, Passive Sonar, ML/AI Automation, TD, Training, and Environmental Exploitation. - Continue developing software updates to reduce technical debt. - Continue converting AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 software into a cloud architecture environment. - Plan and execute a fleet sailor supported land-based integrated system test for ACB-27 to assess ROI and evaluate concepts of employment. - Initiate development of long-term ACB capability candidates. - Initiate implementation of workload reduction study recommendations. - Continue to maintain development facilities.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** The FY 2026 ($22.422M) to FY 2027 ($20.146M) decrease ($-2.276M) is the result of multiple program and rate adjustments for contractor support services and issues to balance RDT&EN across the DoN and DoW.

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** - Continue updating ACB trunk software infrastructure for operating system obsolescence. - Continue integration of ACB-25 Step 2 developed capabilities via 12-week Agile DevSecOps software releases. - Continue execution of incremental Step 3 land-based testing in support of ACB-25. - Initiate planning of enhancements for ACB-27. Anticipate developing capabilities to improve Surface Ship TD, Coordinated Ship Defense, and increase the ship's survivability. - Initiate Step 1 development of long-lead ACB-27 capabilities. - Maintain Peer Review Working Groups (PRWG) comprised of national-level Subject SMEs for Active Sonar, Passive Sonar, ML/AI Automation, TD, Training, and Environmental Exploitation. - Establish a group focused on identifying technical debt (for example, low-priority software issues that when aggregated impact system reliability and readiness) that adversely impacts software performance. - Begin process of designing and implementing software updates to reduce technical debt. - Plan and execute a detailed ACB workload study with Fleet operators to inform future development priorities. - Develop and implement plans to move AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 software to a cloud architecture environment. - Continue to maintain development facilities.
