### Project 63670A — Weapon Technology Development

This project advances conventional weapons technology by developing, maturing, assessing, and demonstrating innovative ordnance and guidance components and subsystems to reduce risk for potential weapon acquisitions, concentrating on Air-to-Air and Air-to-Ground Concept Development via integration by design and starting with desired mission effect to deliver war winning capabilities to defend the homeland, provide nuclear deterrence, and deliver force projection. System level integration and demonstration of advanced weapon system technologies (seekers, aerodynamics, navigation, control, guidance, energetics, fuze, warhead, and ordnance) in a near-realistic operational environment enhance performance and supportability of existing and future weapons systems while reducing the risk and time required to transition technologies into operational platforms.

| Activity (R-2A) | FY2025 | FY2026 | FY2027 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ordnance Technologies | 33.9 | 27.4 | 44.2 |
| Guidance Technologies | 35.3 | 28.5 | 46.0 |

### Project 63670B — Weapon Concept Development

This project develops, refines, integrates, demonstrates, and assesses ordnance and guidance technologies to reduce risk for potential conventional weapons acquisitions. The project concentrates in two effort areas, Air-to-Air Concept Development and Air-to-Ground Concept Development. The project focuses on risk reduction of advanced explosives, fuzes, warheads, sub-munitions, and weapon airframes, carriage and dispensing; as well as innovative munition seekers, weapon aerodynamics, navigation and control, and guidance subsystem integration/simulation.

| Activity (R-2A) | FY2025 | FY2026 | FY2027 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Air-to-Air Concept Development | 23.6 | 20.7 | 0.0 |
| Air-to-Ground Concept Development | 25.1 | 22.0 | 0.0 |

## Mission & acquisition strategy

This program develops, integrates, and demonstrates advanced ordnance and guidance technologies for conventional weapons. This program focuses on integration by design and starting with desired mission effect to deliver war winning capabilities to defend the homeland, provide nuclear deterrence, and deliver force projection. The effort focuses on conventional ordnance component technologies such as warheads, fuzes, and explosives, as well as munition guidance component technologies such as navigation and control systems and seekers.
