What project 63670A buys
This project advances conventional weapons technology by developing, maturing, assessing, and demonstrating innovative ordnance and guidance components and subsystems to reduce risk for potential weapon acquisitions, concentrating on Air-to-Air and Air-to-Ground Concept Development via integration by design and starting with desired mission effect to deliver war winning capabilities to defend the homeland, provide nuclear deterrence, and deliver force projection. System level integration and demonstration of advanced weapon system technologies (seekers, aerodynamics, navigation, control, guidance, energetics, fuze, warhead, and ordnance) in a near-realistic operational environment enhance performance and supportability of existing and future weapons systems while reducing the risk and time required to transition technologies into operational platforms.
Project 63670A funding, FY2025–FY2031
Prior years are actuals, the budget year is the request, and the outyears are the FYDP plan. Estimate types are colored and never summed into one figure. Projects carry the full five-year plan; the activities inside them stop at the budget year.
| Fiscal Year | Estimate Type | Amount ($M) |
|---|---|---|
| FY2025 | Actual | 69.2 |
| FY2026 | Enacted | 55.9 |
| FY2027 | Request | 131.4 |
| FY2028 | Outyear | 139.8 |
| FY2029 | Outyear | 165.8 |
| FY2030 | Outyear | 161.6 |
| FY2031 | Outyear | 147.6 |

The R-2A exhibit — the only level of the budget that describes work that has not happened yet. Activities carry the prior, current and budget year only, no five-year plan. Each describe FY2027 work in enough detail to have their own page; the rest are shown here in full. Coverage is partial across the corpus, so count activities, never total them.
