> **NEW START.** $21.2M requested in FY2027 with no prior-year and no current-year funding.

## Summary

This activity requests $21.2M in FY2027, 16% of project 63670A — a new start with no prior-year and no current-year money. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2026–FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** - Continue technology risk reduction including demonstration and flight testing for weapons concepts responsive to the future threat environment (including hypersonic and high-speed concepts), focusing on maturing and demonstrating advanced propulsion, advanced seekers, alternative navigation, and multi-mission ordnance technologies. Activities include multi-mission ordnance sled test to address diverse target sets. - Continue technology risk reduction for hypersonic and high-speed weapon concepts development within a scalable, cloud-enabled modeling and simulation ecosystem, in order to upgrade Department of War lethality tools with damage from hypersonic weapons. Activities include testing, finalizing, and delivering lethality tools for operational system. - Continue developing kinetic payloads, seeker, and fuze technology for hypersonic and high-speed applications, maturing high-speed weapon technologies to increase effectiveness across a diverse target set. Activities include mission utility analysis of high-speed systems. - Continue modeling, simulation, analysis, and digital engineering in support of air-to-ground advanced weapon technologies, maturing high-speed weapon technologies to increase effectiveness across a diverse target set. Activities include finalizing and transitioning kinematic data and models to partner and operational organizations.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** FY 2027 funding increased by $21.226 million due to the transfer of the Air-to-Ground Concept Development effort and associated funding within this Program Element from Project 63670B/ Weapon Concept Development to Project 63670A/ Weapon Technology Development. However, the overall funding for the Air-to-Ground Concept Development decreased compared to FY 2026 by $0.803 million due to minor programmatic adjustments to the DAF Science and Technology portfolio.

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** In the FY 2025 and FY 2026, the Air-to-Ground Concept Development effort and funding were reported in Program Element 0603601F/ Conventional Weapon Technology/Project 63670B/Weapon Concept Development. FY 2025 funding was $25.108 million and FY 2026 funding is $22.029 million.
