## Summary

This activity requests $11.2M in FY2027, 100% of project 0377, up 6.3% on FY2026. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2026–FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** In FY2027, the program will accelerate iterative development and testing of Automated Target Recognition (ATR) algorithms for Rapid Area Detection (RAD). Key priorities include maturing the Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) pipeline for production readiness, enhancing algorithm workflow capabilities at the tactical edge, integrating onto additional sUAS platforms, and delivering a Minimum Viable Capability Release for both the algorithm and MLOps platforms. Both disrupt and precision aim/render safe requirement CDD annex to the Standoff Render Safe and Disrupt (SRSD) base requirement will be validated and enter the engineering, manufacturing, and development phase of the acquisition process. Integration of EOD unmanned sensors and payloads will continue development to meet the RAD and SRSD capability solution. The Access Buried Munition CDD will be validated establishing a formal Joint Program of Record.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** Increase is attributed to Access Buried Munitions (ABM) PoR initiation after CDD validation.

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** FY2026 will continue efforts to facilitate the transition of initial Rapid Large Area Clearance (RLAC) prototypes identified from the Defense Innovation Accelerator (DIA) and bridge the gap toward fieldable joint material solutions. During this period, the Rapid Area Detection (RAD) program will have requirements validated to enter into the Software Acquisition Pathway (SWP) and begin work to deliver an initial Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for ATR algorithms. Standoff Render Safe and Disrupt (SRSD) work will continue in the engineering, manufacturing, and development phase of acquisition for the SRSD portfolio while a disrupt annex continues through requirements validation. RAD and SRSD will leverage EOD unmanned sensors and payloads S&T prototypes from the RLAC DIA to incorporate into their portfolio. The Timed Firing Device (TFD) will finish the engineering, manufacturing, and development phase with a Milestone C (MS C) decision to move into production in FY26.

## Funding

| Fiscal Year | Estimate Type | Amount ($M) |
|---|---|---|
| FY2025 | Actual | 16.0 |
| FY2026 | Enacted | 10.6 |
| FY2027 | Request | 11.2 |

> Prior, current and budget year only — an R-2A activity carries no five-year plan. It sums exactly into its project in the request year and not necessarily in any other.
