## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** Projects focus on integrating advanced pilot manufacturing equipment over an accelerated schedule. The projects are directed toward additive, digital, material, soft good, photonic, bio-industrial, robotic automation, bio-medical and hybrid electronic manufacturing. The work being conducted will conclude with showcasing new integrated pilot manufacturing capability to the DoW, highlighting point of need manufacturing, prototype production for middle tier acquisition or modernization of a OIB or DIB process.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** An increase of $28.040 million between FY 2026 and FY 2027 reflects the re-alignment from digital, materials, photonics textiles and BioIndustrial innovation sub-projects in Manufacturing Innovation Institutes to align with the department’s priorities.
