## Summary

This activity requests $10.0M in FY2027, 4.4% of project 350, down 7.0% on FY2026. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2025–FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** Continue to improve manufacturing methods and capabilities for tissue engineered medical products and expand certification and credentialing programs for the biomedical manufacturing workforce. Build on successful automation and data collection efforts to improve advanced manufacturing processes and enhance process engineering abilities to evaluate the safety and efficacy of tissue engineered medical products. Expand and leverage BioFabUSA ecosystem engagement with the FDA to accelerate transition of critical medical technologies to the marketplace. The reconciliation funds will facilitate pilot manufacturing line integration of bio medical products directly applicable to current the warfighter need.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** A decrease of $0.754 million from FY 2026 to FY 2027 reflects the realignment of DoW armed services requirements to Adoption of Defense Advanced Manufacturing (ADAM).

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** Continue to improve manufacturing methods and capabilities for tissue engineered medical products and expand certification and credentialing programs for the biomedical manufacturing workforce.

**FY2025 accomplishments.** Continue to enhance manufacturing methods and capabilities for tissue engineered medical products and expand certification and credentialing programs for the biomedical manufacturing workforce. BioFabUSA will increase automation and data collection of manufacturing processes, allowing enhanced abilities to evaluate the safety and efficacy of tissue engineered medical products. BioFabUSA will increase engagements with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to speed the transition of critical medical technologies to the clinic and commercial marketplace.
