## Summary

This activity requests $11.1M in FY2027, 100% of project 090, down 0.1% on FY2026. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2025–FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** In FY 2027, NT will continue to mature test technologies supporting the Department’s strategic goals of enabling radiation hardening and nuclear-survivable warfighting capabilities and accelerating strategic systems modernization. Highlights include: - Address SEE testing throughput needs - Continued development of new capability for combined radiation environment testing to include assembly integration and test. - Continued efforts in EMP testing to include development data acquisition systems tailored to ship based EMP survivability assessments

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** The $0.010 million decrease from FY 2026 to FY 2027 is due to the completion of technology maturation efforts related to upgraded test environments for single event effects.

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** In FY 2026, NT will continue to mature test technologies supporting the Department’s strategic goals of enabling radiation hardening and nuclear-survivable warfighting capabilities and accelerating strategic systems modernization. Highlights include: - Continue efforts related to Single Event Effects (SEE) to include system test and commissioning for a heavy ion test facility - Continue efforts related to combined nuclear effects to include completion of Critical Design Review and initial acquisition of long lead components for neutron and gamma components - Continued efforts in EMP testing to include assembly and test of a horizontal EMP to ensure system survivability against Military EMP Standards

**FY2025 accomplishments.** In FY25, NT will continue to mature test technologies related to nuclear effects testing. Highlights include: - Continue Nuclear Test infrastructure gap analysis - Continue efforts in EMP testing to include large area source development and instrumentation - Continue efforts related to neutron testing - Initiate efforts in Single Event Effects - Initiate efforts related to combined nuclear effects
