> **NEW START.** $25.1M requested in FY2027 with no prior-year and no current-year funding.

## Summary

This activity requests $25.1M in FY2027, 8.0% of project AX3 — a new start with no prior-year and no current-year money. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** IN FY27 this effort will focus on advancing critical capability gaps and enhance the operational effectiveness for the United States Army Europe-Africa (USAREUR-AF) and United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) Army Service Component Command (ASCCs). This effort will leverage prize competitions to drive innovation and collaboration with industry to rapidly prototype capabilities with ASCCs units and soldiers. The prototypes will undergo operational evaluation and continuous refinement. Planned focus areas are EW enabled warfare, integrated offensive and defensive fires and medical and casualty evacuation.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** FY 2027 funding increase required for the demonstrations, rapid prototyping, and integration of innovative technologies for Army Service Component Commands. This funding will enable the Army to address critical gaps in closed kill-chains, distributed operations, decentralized maneuver, multi-domain integration, resilient sustainment, AI-enabled advanced protection, logistics, autonomy-enabled mobility and fires, and Allied & Partnered interoperability. The increase reflects the need for full-scale prototype testing, operational evaluations, and refinement of scalable, data-driven deterrence architectures that integrate forward-based elements, autonomous systems, and resilient logistics. Additional resources are required to support expanded testing environments, advanced system capabilities, and preparation for transition to operational use, ensuring technological superiority and collective defense against adversaries.

## Funding

| Fiscal Year | Estimate Type | Amount ($M) |
|---|---|---|
| FY2027 | Request | 25.1 |

> Prior, current and budget year only — an R-2A activity carries no five-year plan. It sums exactly into its project in the request year and not necessarily in any other.
