## Summary

This activity requests $13.5M in FY2027, 17% of project 654807, down 26% on FY2026. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2026–FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** • Continue to improve assessments of strategic system capabilities/vulnerabilities related to air-delivered, ground-based nuclear weapon systems, and NC3. • Continue to evaluate and analyze to address current and future threats that include, but are not limited to, kinetic, electronic warfare, cyber, and supply chain exploitation. Assessments will include focused intelligence analyses, nuclear weapon system fragility analyses, vulnerability modes and effects analyses, nuclear hardness assessments, M&S, and combined environments testing. Data from these evaluations will be used in the development of requirements, future system concepts, CONOPS, and TTPs as well as support the CNI Implementation Plan and path forward.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** Decrease in funding due to re-prioritization decisions within nuclear modernization initiative.

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** • Assess strategic system capabilities/vulnerabilities related to air-delivered, ground-based nuclear weapon systems, and NC3. • Evaluate and analyze current and future threats that include, but are not limited to, kinetic, electronic warfare, cyber, human factors and supply chain exploitation. Assessments will include focused intelligence analyses, nuclear weapon system fragility analyses, vulnerability modes and effects analyses, nuclear hardness assessments, and M&S. Data from these evaluations will be used in the development of requirements, future system concepts, CONOPS, and TTPs as well as support the CNI Implementation Plan and path forward. • Conduct combined nuclear effects and verification testing of susceptibilities and vulnerabilities of strategic systems. The empirical data generated from testing will be used to validate the development of requirements, future system concepts, CONOPS, and TTPs as well as support the CNI Implementation Plan and path forward.

> Prior, current and budget year only — an R-2A activity carries no five-year plan. It sums exactly into its project in the request year and not necessarily in any other.
