The Protect System Development & Demonstration (SDD) Project enhances mission performance and provides effective protection against current and emerging threats by rapidly developing and fielding modernized protection capabilities. Developmental efforts focus on advances in materials and systems engineering to enhance protective properties against a broader array of hazards, while reducing operational challenges and logistical burdens. Developmental efforts focus on advanced medical countermeasures that provide safe and effective medical defenses against biological agents (bacteria, toxins, and viruses), emerging infectious diseases, and chemical agents. ### 5) Rapid Access to Products in Development (RAPID)

**FY2027 planned work.** Continue incremental development of RAPID database and initiate development of classified annexes; release RAPID database updates to stakeholders; continue storage/stability testing for select MCMs; evaluate RAPID operational capability through relevant exercises/ tabletop exercises. Continue developing regulatory documentation for MCMs.

**FY2027 planned work.** Continue the development and evaluation of Next Generation Individual Protection (NG IP) prototypes in support of the Joint Service Capability Needs Statement (JSCNS) by completing Phase II testing and beginning Phase III test and evaluation activities, including a Wear Trial.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** The Uniform Integrated Protective Ensemble Family of Systems General Purpose (UIPE FOS GP) efforts are transitioning to NG IP starting in FY 2027.

### 6) Shipboard Isolation System (SIS)

**FY2027 planned work.** Phase 1 testing will complete and down select to no more than 2 vendors. Exercise contract option to initiate Phase II testing.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** Decrease due to the program purchasing fewer systems for Phase II testing.

**FY2026 plans — current year.** Complete activities to achieve successful Middle Tier of Acquisition Rapid Prototyping (MTA-RP) decision in 3Q FY 2026. Achieve MTA-RP (Rapid Prototyping) decision. Award up to 3 contracts procuring up to 15 prototypes from each vendor and begin Phase I testing of prototypes.

**FY2025 accomplishments.** Completed Aviation Gloves Light Developmental Testing/Operational Testing (DT/OT) and achieved Full Rate Production (FRP) and Fielding Decision (FD) for AGL in 4QFY25. Initiated Aviation Glove Heavy (AGH) DT/OT.

**FY2025 accomplishments.** Completed all outstanding testing and awarded final prototype contract in order to facilitate the orderly shutdown.

### 2) Advanced System for Protection and Integration Reduction of Encumbrances - Enhanced Biological Defense (ASPIRE-ENBD)

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** Program/project is entering completion and all activities will be closed. Program ends in FY 2026.

**FY2026 plans — current year.** Complete program closeout activities and archive data in support of orderly closeout.

**FY2025 accomplishments.** Continued prototype evaluation, and testing of bio mask. Incorporated initial user feedback and evaluations into prototype. Evaluated ocular protection scalability to meet the intent of the Chemical Biological Defense Program 2022 Enhanced Biodefense and Pandemic Preparedness Narrative.

### 8) Uniform Integrated Protective Ensemble Family of Systems General Purpose (UIPE FOS GP)

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** Program/project terminated in FY 2026. Program efforts will be transitioning to Next Generation Individual Protection (NG IP) starting in FY 2027.

**FY2026 plans — current year.** Initiate Phase I and phase II test and evaluation activities for Next Generation Individual Protection (NG IP). Award contract options for materials and full prototype suits.

**FY2025 accomplishments.** Completed all outstanding testing in order to facilitate the orderly shutdown of Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) activities in order to transition program efforts to Next Generation - Individual Protection. Accelerated developmental investments for a future suit.

### 10) Botulinum Monoclonal Antibodies (BOT MAB) - Manufacturing/Clinical/Non Clinical

**FY2025 accomplishments.** Phase 2 clinical trial and manufacturing completed, non clinical studies to be completed in 3QFY26. Program transitioning to Joint Product Lead (JPL) Enabling Biotechnologies (EB) Rapid Access Products In Development (RAPID) program by 4QFY26.

### 11) Vaccine Acceleration By Modular Progression - Enhanced Biological Defense (VAMP-ENBD)

**FY2025 accomplishments.** Progressed development and testing in safety and efficacy clinical trials of a pan-viral vaccine candidate to protect against respiratory viruses.
