- Continue intelligence community partnerships and dedicated agency intel resources to improve cyber threat knowledge of Department of the Air Force (DAF) weapon systems. - Continue to build and host educational learning paths to grow weapon system cyber experts through functional knowledge (program managers, engineers, logisticians, etc.) and information technology cross training. - Expand development and functionality of acquisition digital materiel management (DMM) tools for weapon system cyber vulnerability assessments and program document artifact generation. - Increase investment in the cyber engineering benchtop facility and increase projects to identify and mitigate navigation, communication, and electronic warfare cyber vulnerabilities. - Continue and expand support for TSN CoE to perform hardware and software assurance in support of weapon system program protection plans. - Continue managing and analyzing data from annual FY21 NDAA 1712 Strategic Cybersecurity Program (SCP) and FY24 NDAA 1502 cyber data call and to understand the DAF's cyber vulnerability and mitigation landscape and inform SECAF investment priorities. - Continue to build and refine weapon system acquisition implementation strategies, guidance, and roadmaps for major cyber policies (ex. Zero Trust and Defensive Cyber Operations). - Continue to discover, analyze, and coordinate information sharing of mission risk and risk discovery activities for DAF weapon systems. - Continue to research, develop, prototype, and demonstrate transition-ready mitigations on fielded weapon systems, subsystems, and support systems in realistic, high-fidelity environments to known cyber vulnerabilities aligned with program office plan of action and milestones (POA&Ms) and DAF cyber vulnerability/mitigation data calls.
FY 2027 increased compared to FY 2026 by $4.717 million due to the realignment of project 642834, Mitigations. This funding will still be used to continue to research, develop, prototype, and demonstrate transition-ready mitigations on fielded weapon systems, subsystems, and support systems in realistic, high-fidelity environments to known cyber vulnerabilities aligned with program office plan of action and milestones (POA&Ms) and DAF cyber vulnerability/mitigation data calls.
