### Project E40 — LTV Prototype

The Army's High Mobility Multipurpose Vehicle (HMMWV) is a lightweight, high performance four-wheel drive, air transportable and air droppable family of tactical vehicles. The vehicle comes armored and unarmored with several different configurations: Command and Control; Cargo/Shelter Carrier; Weapons Carrier and Ambulance and is capable of performing multiple mission roles for personnel and payloads across the full spectrum of military operations. HMMWV Occupancy Protection supports an All Belts to Seats (ABTS) effort which would mitigate occupant injuries during rollover events, integrate air bags/air belts, and significantly minimize head contact with the roof and doors. The Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV) composed of the ISV and ISV-Utility (ISV-U) is a modified commercial off the shelf (M-COTS) program which incorporates greater affordability goals, as well as requirements for reduced weight, and increased vehicle transportability. The ISV provides enhanced tactical mobility for an Brigade Combat Team (BCT), a nine-Soldier infantry squad, with their associated equipment to move quickly around the battlefield. This includes the ability to execute medium distance insertion operations which provides commanders greater freedom of movement and freedom of action. The ISV-U is a five-seat ground vehicle platform that leverages the base ISV configuration. This provides the US Army with a highly mobile and transportable platform that provides Rapid Mission Payload capability on the proven ISV platform. The ISV-H is a six-seat ground vehicle platform that supports the BCT with enhanced operational flexibility by enabling air assault missions, mission command on the move and Tactical Operations Center (TOC) operations while providing increased payload capacity and power management capabilities to adapt to dynamic battle conditions. ISV deploys worldwide by sea, air, and land modes to support strategic deployment and operational maneuver in accordance with Army and Joint doctrine. This capability provides flexibility for entry operations (permissive and non-permissive) to counter threat anti-access strategies by using multiple austere entry points to bring in combined arms configured units. ISV, transportable by CH-47/UH-60, air drop capable, payload of nine Soldiers with equipment/supplies for three days of operations.

Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV): A firm fixed priced production contract was awarded to General Motors Defense (GMD) on 26 June 2020 following successful prototype determination and findings from the ISV Other Transaction Authority (OTA). Army Requirements Oversight Council Memorandum (AROCM) 25-09 (30 Apr 2025) Approved the ISV Capability Development Document Update (CDD-U), Infantry Squad Vehicle Utility (ISV- U) annex, APO increase to 5,733, and Army Acquisition Objective (AAO) increase to 9,282.
