# SSDS MK2 Product Development/Combat Systems Integration

**R-2A activity** of project 2178 — QRCC
**Program element:** 0604755N — Ship Self Def (Detect & Cntrl)
**Component:** U.S. Navy · **Budget Activity:** 5
**Vintage:** President's Budget PB2027

## Summary

This activity requests $114.8M in FY2027, 79% of project 2178, down 8.9% on FY2026. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2026–FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** For Build 12+ - Continue efforts for systems engineering, design, and qualification of common computing infrastructure components/designs supporting SSDS platforms. - Continue efforts for systems engineering capability insertions, to include requirements development/updates, use cases, trade studies and conduct Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events as required: - Continue Integration of applicable common software including Battle Decision Aids - Adaptable Deck Launch (ESSM Block 2 Phase 2 (Optimized)) - Continue AN/SLQ-32(V)7 (Electronic Warfare Improvement) - Continue CEC Increment 2 (CG4/5) - Continue integration/lifecycle engineering efforts for Combat System Build 12 I in support of the following capability insertions: - AN/SPY-6(V) integration - AN/SLQ-32(V)6 (Electronic Warfare Improvement) - GPNTS/GEDMS - SSDS virtualization (previously containerization) - CEC Increment 2 (CG2/3) - Complete CAC2S Afloat mission capability design, development, test, and certification of the Coalition/NATO Link 22 interface, the TTNT interface, the UxV interfaces to process both Full Motion Video (FMV) and Still Imagery Products (SIP), and the web-based CEC product for non-CEC ship classes to provide real-time netted-sensor tracks/targets. - Continue efforts on Software Support Activities (SSA) to include cybersecurity updates, CANES certifications, and support for four (4) software update builds released per year. - Initiate SPY-6 EPIC 3 Improved Air Surveillance Tracking and Electronic Protection [EASR Epic 3] Optimized air warfare performance for improved self-defense, Advanced Electronic Protection

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** The FY 2026 to FY2027 adjustments include an increase to support integration of SPY-6 EPIC 3 in SSDS but is offset by reductions resulting in a net decrease of $11.287. This decrease impacts CAC2S Afloat by $3.2M resulting in a delay in delivery of the Distributed Common Ground System - Navy (DCGS-N) interface, Coalition/NATO Link 22 interface, and the Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT) implementation. We are extending the development timeline for these interfaces to multi-year efforts to fit within the existing budget. The remaining $7.787M reduction freezes SSDS cyber capability development except for testing and minimum limited high priority software corrections.

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** For Build 12+ - Continue efforts for systems engineering, design, and qualification of common computing infrastructure components/designs supporting SSDS platforms. - Continue efforts for systems engineering capability insertions, to include requirements development/updates, use cases, trade studies and conduct Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events as required: - Integration of applicable common software including Battle Decision Aids - Adaptable Deck Launch (ESSM Block 2 Phase 2 (Optimized)) - Initiate AN/SLQ-32(V)7 (Electronic Warfare Improvement) - Initiate CEC Increment 2 (CG4/5) - Continue integration/lifecycle engineering efforts for Combat System Build 12 I in support of the following capability insertions: - AN/SPY-6(V) integration - AN/SLQ-32(V)6 (Electronic Warfare Improvement) - GPNTS/GEDMS - SSDS virtualization (previously containerization) - CEC Increment 2 (CG2/3) - Complete the CAC2S Afloat development, integration, test, and certification efforts for the Shipboard ISR-T interfaces to include Minotaur/MTC-A and DCGS-N which will be released to the Fleet. - Initiate the new mission capability design, development, test, and certification of the Coalition/NATO Link 22 interface, the TTNT interface, the UxV interfaces to process both Full Motion Video (FMV) and Still Imagery Products (SIP), and the web-based CEC product for non-CEC ship classes to provide real-time netted-sensor tracks/targets. - Continue efforts on Software Support Activities (SSA) to include cybersecurity updates, consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise Services (CANES) certifications, and support for four (4) software update builds released per year.
