## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** Will execute approximately 25 TMTRs of emerging technologies to inform future investment decisions and maintain alignment between RDT&E activities and the Joint Staff needs; conduct full MEIA mission cycles for prioritized Joint Operational Problems; and conduct technical assessments and analysis that inform requirements and concept development.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** Increase from FY 2026 to FY 2027 restores efforts that were deferred and realigns funding with strategic imperatives.

Reviews are integrated across the Joint Staff, OUSW(R&E) and OUSW(A&S) to address strategic operational issues raised by the Joint Staff; providing technical analysis and advisory support to the Joint Staff; and implementing MEIA for two prioritized Joint Operational Problems.
