## Summary

This activity requests $37.4M in FY2027, 100% of project 673505, down 5.5% on FY2026. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2026–FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** In Fiscal Year 2027, the ODIN program will achieve critical modernization milestones, establishing the technical foundation for a fully capable and resilient system. These efforts directly support enhanced operational availability and reduce long-term sustainment costs. Key deliverables include: 1) Advanced Software Suite: Deliver the next major ODIN software release, introducing enhanced capabilities and improved user functionality; 2) Next-Generation Hardware: Commence development of the next-generation hardware platform, ensuring technological superiority and mitigating obsolescence; 3) Contested Logistics Support: Integrate and test key hardware components to enable decentralized maintenance operations. This is a critical capability for sustaining the force in contested or dispersed operational environments; and 4) Predictive Maintenance: Develop modernized Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) algorithms to predict system failures before they occur, increasing platform readiness and reducing lifecycle costs. These critical milestones establish the core technical foundation for ODIN, marking a pivotal transition towards a fully modernized system.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** Funding decreased from FY2026 to FY2027 to align with F-35 cost share ratios in FY2027.

## Before the request year

**FY2026 plans — current year.** FY2026 will deliver key ODIN modernization milestones: 1) Completion of modernized ODIN unclassified and classified hardware design and fielding; 2) Country-level data centralization and access, enabling the development and integration of fleet management capabilities; and 3) Deployment of the first slice of the modernized ODIN software stack, incorporating the first tranche of containerized software and enhanced capabilities. These critical milestones establish the core technical foundation for ODIN, marking a pivotal transition towards a fully modernized system. In parallel, development of the next-generation ODIN hardware will continue, along with advancements in the modernized technology stack, software containerization, applications, and integrated data environment.
