## What project 1110 buys

Precision Attack Strike Munition (PASM) - PASM is the Program of Record follow-on to the Long Range Attack Munition (LRAM) Joint Capability Technology Demonstration (JCTD). The program was renamed from LRAM to PASM to reflect its shorter range compared to other DON weapons and to differentiate the Program of Record from JCTD activities. PASM provides a longer-range, precision strike weapon capable of deterring and engaging maritime and land-based targets. PASM builds off of the subsystem maturation, integration, and demonstration efforts of the LRAM JCTD. PASM will provide asymmetric advantages in range, stand-off and lethality. PASM is designed with a Weapons Open System Architecture (WOSA) to form fit multiple types of payloads based on mission while using common mounting systems and launchers to simplify logistics requirements. PASM is initially designed to utilize mature, non-integrated capabilities for the fire control system. The AH-1Z is the threshold platform for the USMC. The PASM system includes missiles, trainers, containers, federated platform integration solution, support equipment, modular payloads, and software modifications. The Modular Common Launcher (MCL) is the next generation multi-purpose launcher for USN and USMC Vertical Take Off Landing (VTOL) platforms. The MCL enables multiple carriage of the Precision Attack Strike Munition (PASM) on the AH-1Z aircraft. The PASM fills a long-range Precision Guided Munition (PGM) capability gap for the AH-1Z. The modular concept enables mixed loadouts and carriage of up to four weapon systems from a single aircraft station that significantly enhances mission lethality and flexibility. The MCL provides a platform for future integration of legacy weapons (e.g. Hellfire, JAGM, APKWS and unguided 2.75 in rockets) and emerging weapons (e.g. PASM, expanded APKWS and Air Launched Effects) on the AH-1Z, MH-60, and other platforms. The MCL adds capability and flexibility to better align loadouts with mission requirements and significantly simplifies sustainment/logistics support. As the MCL is subsequently qualified for carriage of legacy stores, it provides a cost-effective and highly supportable way to mitigate readiness issues with LAU series Hydra 70 2.75-inch aircraft rocket launchers and to resolve significant obsolescence issues afflicting the M299 HELLFIRE Missile Launcher (HML).
