## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** Funding in FY 2027 will support hardware upgrade development to include upgrades for Major End Items (MEIs), prototypes for emerging new requirements to further mature and validate planned hardware upgrades, and continuing evaluation of MEI upgrades.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** FY 2027 IBCS Hardware Upgrades funding decreases from FY26 as the hardware baseline stabilizes to support Increment 2 Configuration.
