FY2027 Request
$113.0M
◆ New start in FY2027
HitchAI read

This activity requests $113.0M in FY2027, 100% of project 119 — a new start with no prior-year and no current-year money. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

New start

This activity requests $113.0M in FY2027 with no prior-year and no current-year funding. There is no incumbent line to compare it with — it did not exist before this President's Budget.

What the FY2027 request buys

Verbatim from the R-2A exhibit for project 119 of PE 0605798D8Z. This is the budget justification's own description of work that has not happened yet — the one thing no other level of the budget carries.

FY2027 planned work

- Develop, design, and deliver trusted navigation and timing data, resilient augmented PNT systems, and receivers to enable trusted use of all viable non-GPS, space-based signals for PNT, which enables use of precise time and positioning from multiple constellations. - Mature and rapidly integrate MOSA-compliant sensors tailored to platforms and for domain-specific requirements to establish an alternative PNT technology and capability pipeline for end users. - Collect authoritative data and develop more accurate methods to provide navigation-quality magnetic anomaly mapping products for key areas of interest. - Develop and deliver methods to account for platform interference for magnetometers to enable rapid magnetic anomaly navigation transition to operations. - Begin experimentation and evaluation of hardware and software integration techniques of PNT technology, sensors, and solutions to meet platform mission critical and safety requirements.

FY2026 to FY2027 change

The increase of $113.000 million between FY 2026 and FY 2027 reflects additional assessment/analysis of alternative PNT technologies.

Money

Three years, and no five-year plan

An R-2A activity publishes the prior year, the current year and the budget year. The FYDP outyears exist at project and program-element level and are deliberately absent here rather than inferred. Estimate types are colored and never summed into one figure.

This activity is 100% of project 119's FY2027 request and 68% of PE 0605798D8Z's. In the request year the activities under a project sum to it exactly; in the current year they under-cover it in about 9% of cases, so an activity's delta can legitimately exceed its parent's and the two must not be compared row to row.
