### Project VU9 — Joint Light Tactical Vehicle

The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) is the cornerstone of protected tactical mobility for the Army and Marine Corps. This RDT&E request is critical, time-sensitive investment to master the threats of today and tomorrow. Warfighters face a growing danger from Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), while the demand for on-board electrical power for advanced sensors, communication suites, and future weapons has surged. This creates an urgent capability gap. This funding request closes a capability gap by delivering tangible capabilities with a clear strategic impact. The program element supports modernization of the JLTV Family of Vehicles by investigating capability upgrades/insertions, including but not limited to force protection/survivability improvements, predictive logistics, platform safety enhancements including operations in extreme environments, trailer integration and technologies to meet other emerging operational needs. Funding the integration of the priority efforts includes: previously developed Tactical Range Extender (TREE) and the electric Power Export and Expansion Kit (ePEEK) as well as development of the hardware needed to bring platforms to autonomy ready status. TREE and ePEEK are a unified, mobile power system that transforms any tactical vehicle into a power hub that can provide any High Voltage DC power or AC. It delivers the massive amounts of versatile, exportable electricity needed to run the Army's most advanced systems on the move. This investment works to make our vehicle platforms "autonomy-ready." It buys the essential power architecture that unlocks the next generation of modernization, from autonomous systems and predictive logistics to advanced survivability upgrades. This technology provides the power backbone necessary to integrate drone-killing systems directly onto the JLTV. It Increases Warfighter Survivability & Agility: By generating power on the move, it reduces the logistical burden on forces and shrinks their acoustic and thermal signatures, making a harder for the enemy to target. This funding ensures warfighters have the dominant tactical vehicle needed for the challenges of a complex world. FY 2027 Justification: The FY 2027 budget funds of $2.749 million will be utilized for the continuation of the development and assessment of emerging technologies to maintain operational relevancy.

The JLTV Family of Vehicles (FoV), to include a companion trailer, is a United States Army (USA) acquisition lead, joint program with the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC). The JLTV Program entered the Production and Deployment Phase with the Acquisition Decision Memorandum authorization on 25 August 2015. With Milestone C approval, the Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) fixed price contract was awarded to Oshkosh Defense LLC on 25 August 2015. This contract consisted of a three-year LRIP period with options for five additional years of Full Rate Production (FRP) deliveries. JPO JLTV procured the Technical Data Package (TDP) with appropriate data rights to allow for possible future competition for production vehicles and spares.
