### 4) Special Purpose Unit Rapid Capability Development and Deployment (SPU RCDD) - System Modernization

**FY2027 planned work.** Continue developing, prototyping, and maturing SO-P CB technologies to rapidly equip users with capabilities in response to new and emerging threats and opportunities. SPU RCDD develops multiple SO-P CB products that close rapid response gaps and reduce risk across the Enterprise through high risk / high reward advanced development. SPU RCDD aligns to Integrated Early Warning (IEW), Contamination Mitigation (CONMIT), and Individual Protection (IP).

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** Increased to balance out portfolio after doubling requirements through SPECAT and DCR mechanisms.

**FY2026 plans — current year.** Continue maturing Special Operations Peculiar (SO-P) CB technologies, specifically the Modular Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (MSCBA) for USSOCOM.

**FY2025 accomplishments.** Continued maturing chemical and biological (CB) technologies within Understand, Protect, Mitigate, and Enabling commodity areas. The bulk of SPU RCDD funds aligned to Protect.

### 5) Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Teams (WMD CST)

**FY2027 planned work.** Initiate Unmanned Aircraft System Tether Testing. Finalize Rebreather and respiratory protection down select efforts. Begin the market research on next generation chemical detection capability to replace the MultiRAE. Continue program management and administration processes to include but not limited to program oversight, resource justification, budgeting and programming, and schedule tracking.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** FY 2027 funding increase supports scope of engineering support and testing requirements for planned activities.

**FY2026 plans — current year.** Complete testing efforts for Next Generation Physiological Status Monitor Testing, and Man-Transportable Robotic System. Complete Unmanned Aircraft System sensor integration effort, and conduct down select for Next Generation Mass Casualty Decontamination. Begin market research for Rebreather and respiratory protection efforts. Continue program management and administration processes to include but not limited to program oversight, resource justification, budgeting and programming, and schedule tracking.

**FY2025 accomplishments.** Completed all post test actions and user requirement refinement for Next Generation Mass Casualty Decontamination and Live Agent Large Scale Contaminated Water Purification. Started testing of Next Generation Physiological Status Monitor.
