## What the FY2027 request buys

**FY2027 planned work.** Funding will maintain core compute infrastructure, data, tooling, service desk, and engineering to support a growing userbase including existing applications, data sources, customers, and capabilities. CDAO will continue to invest in driving a scalable self-service architecture. For FY 2027 the primary focus of the War Data Platform is to modernize the data integration layer, implement Zero Trust Architecture and SIPR/JWICS infrastructure modernization deployment.

**FY2026 to FY2027 change.** IThe FY 2027 budget request includes an increase to support the War Data Platform, formerly Advana, driven by increased usage and license growth, as well as expanded cloud services across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICs. Within this overall increase, an additional $3 million invests in the Next Generation Technology / Autonomy – War Data Platform - Zero Trust Implementation effort, enabling comprehensive Zero Trust security measures for the War Data Platform operating on the nation's classified network, SIPRNet and JWICs. In an era of persistent cyber threats from sophisticated state-level adversaries, traditional network perimeter security is no longer sufficient to protect our most sensitive national security data. This investment will directly fund the deployment of advanced Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, including procuring and integrating new software modules for continuous identity verification, the implementation of micro-segmentation capabilities through network infrastructure configuration and policy enforcement point deployment, and the integration of continuous monitoring and threat detection tools by acquiring specialized analytics platforms and security orchestration tools. By implementing these measures, the CDAO mitigates the risk of unauthorized access and lateral movement by attackers, thereby protecting our classified data, ensuring the integrity of our analytical capabilities, and modernizing our defensive posture to guarantee a more secure, resilient network for the warfighter.
