## Mission & acquisition strategy

Acquisition Visibility supports the Department’s effort to implement Executive Order 14265 “Modernizing Defense Acquisitions and Spurring Innovation in the Defense Industrial Base.” By leveraging machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI) and other digital tools, Acquisition Visibility will rapidly and iteratively transform the Department’s acquisition digital systems and processes with an emphasis on speed, flexibility, and execution.

Acquisition Digital Transformation Program enables two initiatives and develops and fields digital capabilities across 5 core product lines and 3 enabling lines of efforts. The program will rapidly iterate to develop and delivery capability to end users. The contracting strategy will include multiple performers on one or more OTA prototypes with common, defined success criteria. Performers that meet the success criteria and are determined to be able to effectively meet the programs production-level requirements will be selected for OTA production awards.
