What the FY2027 request buys

-Implement machine-to-machine tasking to improve Space Surveillance Network (SSN) responsiveness and close kill chains. -Ingest and disseminate new Space messages to provide rich data, observations and other data sets required for modern C2 functionality. -Deploy Cloud based nodes to provide a secondary direct path to Unified Data Library (UDL) and other cloud-based systems to reduce latency and provide redundancy and resiliency. -Interconnect with DoW networks for greater resiliency and speed of data exchanges. -Continue integration with machine learning enclaves to further speed and efficiency of the SSN -Continue SDANet expansion to incorporate new network nodes with Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI), Nellis AFB, NRO, Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), and Deep Space Advanced Radar Concept (DARC) Sites 1-2 and begin planning for DARC Site 3 deployment. - The Mission Data Integration (MDI) line of effort integrates at the sensor edge to support sensor agnostic machine-to-machine semi-autonomous and autonomous C2 capabilities. It will serve as the primary focal point for any future USSC-sponsored Project Lighthouse integration efforts, including integration with MDA's Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications-Global (C2BMC-G) network. - MDI will mature operationalization of Optic Cued Radar Search (OCRS) and automatic radar imagery exposure and exploitation in support to USSC's Zulu Wookie program requirements. This will include continued development of tip-and-cue software for launch custody and high-revisit capabilities at Millimeter Wave (MMW) Radar, ARPA Lincoln C-Band Observables Radar (ALCOR), Haystack Ultrawideband Satellite Imaging Radar (HUSIR), Haystack Auxiliary (HAX) and ALTAIR radars. - MDI will resolve gaps for integration of 2 UEWRs, Millstone Radar Site Massachusetts. It will resolve gaps for MMW radar, ALCOR, HUSIR, and the HAX radar regarding other characterization and operational intelligence capabilities. - MDI will resolve gaps identified in the study from initial upgrade to Space Fence radar software such as adding machine to machine tasking capability from MDA to Space Fence radar. -Rapidly respond to implement system resiliency and situational awareness necessary to operate in the contested space domain. Activities may include, but are not limited to, program office support, studies, technical analysis, experimentation, risk reduction, prototyping, and activities that may leverage commercial, U.S. Government partnership, and international opportunities to respond to existing and emerging adversarial threats with speed and agility.

FY2026: the year under way

Continue SDANet integration and fielding efforts: -Upgrade end-to-end SSN sensor communications at additional sites which facilitate tip and cue sensor operations. -Modernize legacy sensor message formats and protocols for greater accuracy via non-traditional data sources. -Continue SDANet integration with: COBRA DANE, 5 Upgraded Early Warning Radars (UEWR), Classified SIL, Globus II, Reagan Test Site (RTS) Kwajalein. -Continue operating and continuously developing new data capabilities for sensors delivered during Initial Operational Capability (IOC). New data capabilities include message types beyond legacy Integrated Weapon System Data (IWSD) messages, rich data observations, and other information required for modern Command and Control (C2) and SDA data analytics. -Incorporate new network nodes for the Lexington Space Surveillance Center, Space Fence, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), MIT-Lincoln Labs Lexington, C-Band Australia, Space Surveillance Telescope, and PARCS. In FY26, a sum total of 3.446M was erroneously programmed between the five projects in this program element. This includes Congressional marks of -5.353M for "Space Data Fusion previously funded” and -5.622M for "Space Domain Awareness mesh network insufficient justification” as well as Congressional adds for 3.0M "AI satellite health monitoring” and 7.50M for "Collaborative sensor network.” In the year of execution, funding will be realigned internally to properly represent the Congressional marks, adds and SBIR/STTR reductions in their correct projects. Project 673940, Space Data Fusion will be increased by 4.095M to total 57.162M; project 673941, Unified Data Library will be decreased by 0.703M to total 41.533M; Project 673942, JCO will be decreased by 0.438M to total 33.250M; and Project 67A018, Space Based Environmental Monitoring will be decreased by 0.052M to total 2.992M.
