### Project 643835 — Tactically Responsive Space (TacRS)

The Space Safari Office is developing, prototyping, and executing the Tactically Responsive Space (TacRS) (project 643835) to deliver space control functions to Guardians and Combatant Commands. As a result of these activities, the Service will deliver capabilities to augment, supplement, and integrate with Allies, partners, and commercial space companies to Space Force units. TacRS rapidly integrates and deploys space-based end-to-end capabilities in response to Combatant Commander (CCMD) urgent needs for power projection and characterization. TacRS missions will be capable of entering operations and generating effects on tactically relevant timelines. The near-term focus of TacRS is to establish these foundational concepts enabling the Space Force to establish the necessary capabilities, processes, concept of operations, and tactics, techniques and procedures to enable a rapid response. In FY 2026, funding will be used to finalize an early operational Space Domain Awareness (SDA) capability that will involve a rapid call-up, launch, and space vehicle operations. In addition, funding will be used to develop the maneuverable, prepositioned SDA TacRS missions. Furthermore, funding will be used to support follow-on SDA operational missions requiring both rapid launch and maneuverable, prepositioned capabilities. Finally, funding will be used to mature new TacRS concepts including, but not limited to, the ability to quickly utilize commercial capabilities. This program falls within the Combat Power mission area which provides the systems required to protect and defend space-based capabilities and ensure space superiority by enabling and executing combat operations in space. Program interdependencies include: Counterspace Operations (1203936SF); Counterspace Systems (1206421SF); Defense Recon Support Activities (1203159SF); National Space Defense Center (1203620SF); National Space Defense Center - MIP (1203621SF); Space Control Technology (1206438SF); Space Intelligence Activities (1203375SF); Space Superiority ISR (1203330SF); Rocket Systems Launch Program (1206860SF); and Rapid Resilient Command & Control (1206772SF).

| Activity (R-2A) | FY2025 | FY2026 | FY2027 |

## Mission & acquisition strategy

TacRS prioritizes commercial, fixed-priced contracts to take advantage of evolving commercial capabilities, technology advancements, and reduced production timelines to rapidly deliver minimum viable warfighter solutions. This iterative nature of incremental, commercially-based system improvements that builds upon prior missions will allow TacRS to achieve 18-24-month space vehicle build and launch timelines resulting in substantially reduced cost when compared to traditional satellite procurements.
