CRC Modernization
The AN/TSY-7 Control and Reporting Center (CRC) is a mobile, ground-based battle management command and control (BMC2) theater air control system (TACS). It is a modular, transportable, and persistent tactical level weapon system which provides direct command and control to air assets in an assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR) and reports back to the Joint Force Air Component Commander (JFACC). The CRC is composed of the following subsystems: AN/TYQ-23A(V)1 Tactical Air Operations Module (TAOM), the AN/TSC-250 Communication Data Link System (CDLS), the AN/TRC-213/214 Remote Radio Secure Voice System (RRSVS), the AN/TPS-75 organic sensor, and associated mission support equipment. CRC Modernization under this program element (PE) upgrades BMC2, sensors, and communications. This CRC modernization investment integrates the Distributable Battle Management Node (DBMN) and Cloud Based Command and Control (CBC2+) to enable fielding the Tactical Operations Center-Light (TOC-L) capability into CRCs and provide an upgraded, more modular, and threat relevant tactical command and control. In FY2027, CRC Modernization efforts include, but are not limited to: integration of long-haul SATCOM capability, tactical sensing capabilities, tactical data link upgrades, integration of the Cloud Based Command and Control (CBC2+), modernization of the CRC System Integration Lab (SIL) and CRC Test Bed. Additionally, CRC modifications include keeping the system in compliance with DoD directives, changes in the underlying IT/Cyber Security environment, and any other emerging requirements to remain inter-operable, certified, supportable, and compliant through the development, integration, testing, training, and fielding of equipment related to new CRC capabilities. Efforts within this PE align with USAF investment in ABMS (0604003F) and Air Base Air Defense Systems (0207522F) to deliver a common hardware and software baseline for DAF BATTLE NETWORK deployable systems. Program RDT&E funding may be utilized to implement innovation insertion, capability insertion, software increments, spiral upgrades, modular component swaps, and other insertions consistent with Modular Open System Architecture. Program RDT&E funding may be utilized to design, develop, integrate, and test weapon system and/or component level open architectures.
