What the FY2027 request buys

Verbatim from the R-2A exhibit for project 673248 of PE 0303248F. This is the budget justification's own description of work that has not happened yet — the one thing no other level of the budget carries.

FY2027 planned work

- Will continue to provide enhance security observability and remediation tools and services in support of application customers and platform services via a Security Operations Center - Will continue iterative delivery of automation for observability, monitoring, and tracking of services for application customer usage - Will continue to improve C2 mission application reliability and decrease lead times for new capability delivery - Will continue to optimize managed platform and infrastructure services on available public cloud service provider and provide architectural/engineering support to ongoing managed platform operations across the AOC enterprise - Will continue development, improvement, and delivery of operationalized connected edge platform capabilities through the AOC/AppTX hybrid architecture model to deliver fight tonight capability with parity for remaining legacy on-premise and developing cloud operations. - Will continue to integrate with TAP-SoS and DAF Battle Network (DBN) C2 systems in support of Program Executive Office C3BM mission threads - Will continue to support cloud-hosted self-monitoring access for C2 mission application development - Will continue to improve AppTx and C2IMERA data management, tagging, and sharing through iterative improvements to enterprise data governance - Will continue supporting platform tenants with planning and architecture for developmental and operational testing of fielded application capabilities by leveraging and improving AppTx capabilities - Will continue to improve access and availability of unique internal-facing IT products and service to best enable program execution in support of C2 application delivery to DAF Battle Network (DBN) weapon systems - Will continue to integrate Maven Smart Systems Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) licenses to provide AI-driven workflows and data connections that enable high functioning cross-platform interoperability for the modern AOC, capabilities required for success in Major Theater War and critical to out-pacing adversaries by replacing legacy systems - Will begin supporting efforts to enhance data flow between C2 systems through improved network functionality

FY2026 to FY2027 change

FY 2027 funding decreases due to discontinuing Platform as a Service (PaaS) to cloud connected edge environments and discontinuing support of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

FY2026: the year under way

Prior-year accomplishments and current-year plans from the same exhibit. Context for the FY2027 plan, not a series — an activity partitions its project exactly in the request year, but can under-cover it in earlier years.

FY2026 plans — current year

- Continue to support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines operating in cloud-native environments - Continue transition of containerized C2 applications to the production-ready open-source system - Continue to increase enhanced security observability tooling in support of application customers and platform services via a Security Operations Center - Continue iterative delivery of automation for monitoring and tracking services for application customer usage - Continue to improve C2 mission application reliability and decrease lead time for new capability delivery - Continue to optimize implementation of commercially managed platform and infrastructure services on available public cloud service provider offerings and provide architectural/engineering support to ongoing managed platform operations - Continue to develop, test, and deliver operationalized connected edge platform capabilities for AOC focused C2 applications - Continue to align and support core DAF Battle Network (DBN) C2 application tenants including managing and optimizing the C2IMERA and AppTx cloud environments, providing security monitoring to all AOC sites, and converging KR applications with DAF Cloudworks - Continue Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) development to support the Hardened Application Platform (HAP) disconnected operations solution - Continue supporting platform tenants with planning and architecture for developmental and operational testing of fielded application capabilities - Complete migration of applications to the preferred DAF BATTLE NETWORK platforms - Supporting integration of AOC with DAF Battle Network (DBN) and Theater Air Planning System of Systems (TAP-SoS) - Support cloud-hosted self-monitoring access for C2 mission application development teams to manage path to production - Improve data management and sharing through iterative improvements to enterprise data governance - Improve access and availability of unique internal-facing IT products and services to best enable program execution - Support platform and infrastructure convergence with AOC WS modernized hardware and infrastructure at the edge supporting contested, degraded, and operationally limited (CDOL) environments

Three years, and no five-year plan

An R-2A activity publishes the prior year, the current year and the budget year. The FYDP outyears exist at project and program-element level and are deliberately absent here rather than inferred. Estimate types are colored and never summed into one figure.

This activity is 100% of project 673248's FY2027 request and 100% of PE 0303248F's. In the request year the activities under a project sum to it exactly; in the current year they under-cover it in about 9% of cases, so an activity's delta can legitimately exceed its parent's and the two must not be compared row to row.
