The FY27 funding increase supports material buys, data deliverables, design modifications, and expanded production activities necessary to enable a timely transition to integration and testing. Both contractors will complete substantial design work to achieve Critical Design Review (CDR) approval and establish the initial product baseline. These activities are essential to validate contractor designs before significant material procurement in FY27, which represent approximately 70 percent of all contractor material buys for 32 systems.
